February 10, 2014
The Tallapoosa County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting February 10, 2014 at the courthouse in Dadeville, Alabama at 9:00 a.m.
Chairman Holt called the meeting to order.
David Moore gave the invocation.
Chairman Holt led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Chairman Holt called roll. Commissioners Robinson, Tapley, Thweatt and Holt were present. Commissioner Coley was absent.
Public Comments from Citizens
Faye Ingram representing Tallaco K-9 unit submitted a written request to address the Commission to request funding. She did not attend the meeting.

Consent Agenda
Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 13, 2014 meeting. Commissioner Robinson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the warrants and purchase orders. Commissioner Robinson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve leave for two County employees under the Family Medical Leave Act. Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the levy of County alcohol licensing fees. Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve the levy of County property taxes. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve a funding agreement with ALDOT for the resurfacing of Willow Point Road. Commissioner Tapley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve a contract for an Industrial Access Project along Central Boulevard. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve the surplus of Highway Department equipment with inventory numbers 3008, 3020, and 3104. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.
Commissioner Robinson made a motion to approve a budget amendment for an internet upgrade and HVAC maintenance at the Alexander City Annex. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

Discussion Items
County Administrator Blake Beck addressed the Commission concerning a proposed policy regarding the use of wireless communication devices. He advised that option 1 would be posted at the courthouse and other sites and presented to the Commission at the next meeting for consideration.

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Robinson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
