Minutes – Regular Meeting

 

December 12, 2011

 

The Tallapoosa County Commission held its regularly scheduled meeting December 12, 2011 at the courthouse in Dadeville, Alabama at 9:00 a.m.

 

Chairman Shaw called the meeting to order.

 

David Moore gave the invocation.

 

Chairman Shaw led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Chairman Shaw called roll. All Commissioners were present.

 

Public Comments from Citizens

 

Gerald Queen representing a group of citizens addressed the Commission concerning the Piney Woods boat ramp. Specifically, he requested the Commission consider extending the boat ramp. The group was advised that the County engineer would review the situation and advise the Commission as to available options.

 

Public Comments from Officials

 

Commissioner Shaw made a motion to revise the consent agenda adding item F – an indigent burial. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Consent Agenda

 

Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2011 meeting. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Holt made a motion to approve the warrants and purchase orders. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve RBC Bank and Aliant Bank as official depositories of the County. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve the participation agreement in the Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurers’Fund. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Thweatt made a motion to approve a resolution authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement of Understanding by and between the Tallapoosa County Commission and the Jackson’s Gap Water Authority. Commissioner Holt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. See attachment.

 

Commissioner Tapley made a motion to approve payment for an indigent burial of Alfred Eugene McCain. Commissioner Thweatt seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
